PlayStation Vita - It says “Touch both sides. Double the feeling.”
This is a truly creepy image and slogan.
The ad compares a game controller to a freaky doll-like woman with a tiny waist and large breasts on her front and back. So, women are just plastic toys with tits? And using this game controller is somehow comparable to fondling a quadruple-breasted woman? THE MORE TITS THE BETTER!
What. The. Fuck.
Also, this ad is not appealing to anyone but heterosexual male gamers. Recent studies show 42% of gamers are female, so when are we going to see an ad with a freaky doll-like man with two penises? (Double the joysticks!)
Oh that’s right… NEVER.
I like the fact that this ad tells women to learn about birth control options, and I like that the model is an everyday woman, not a super model. Her breasts aren’t perfectly perky and the skin on her waist folds when she bends - as skin tends to do, but advertisers tend to Photoshop out. But why do we need a fully naked woman in this ad? Do all advertisers think female nudity is the only way to get people’s attention?!
“Advertisements about food aren’t about food anymore. Instead of focusing on how savory and delightful snacks ought to be, ads promote the guilt, shame, and constant vigilance that accompany food consumption in 21st century America.”
The above quote nicely summarizes how I feel about these ads for Pop Chips featuring Katy Perry. Read the full article here.
Wow, another SUPER CREATIVE advertising idea.
“I know, lets use a naked lady to sell shit! That’s really original and fresh!”
American Apparel is one of the worst companies when it comes to over-sexualization in advertisements. Not too long ago this would be considered porn. Today it’s just another ad trying desperately to grab our attention.
This ad also objectifies women - she has no face, no identity, no emotion. She is just a hot piece of ass.
It’s common to see ads featuring submissive-looking women gently sucking on things like fruit, lollipops, bottles and their fingers. It makes them seem innocent, even child-like, while also highly sexualizing them.
